Countdowns and sale collections

Add the countdown to your theme

In campaign setup, enable Show a sale countdown. Choose Product page or Store banner, your headline and a style. Both plans include 8 clock designs, 12 color palettes and 4 banner treatments.

Open Set up in theme editor. For a product countdown, add the SaleSwitch block to the product template and drag it below Buy buttons or another supported section. For a banner, use Customize banner in theme editor in the Fine-tune your banner card. Save the intended published theme, then inspect a real storefront page.

Your Online Store theme must support app blocks or app embeds. The app’s style preview is illustrative; it is not a live theme preview.

Fine-tune the store banner

1. Open the theme editor and go to App embeds → Sale countdown banner.
2. Choose Banner size: Compact (small), Standard or Large. Adjust desktop Vertical padding, Horizontal padding and Maximum banner width. Choose Text alignment: Start or Center.
3. Under Mobile, choose the Compact or Stacked layout and set mobile vertical and horizontal padding independently.
4. Choose Top or Bottom position and the minimized Sale tab’s bottom-left or bottom-right corner. Turn off Show campaign name or Show sale link if you want to hide either.
5. Click Save, check the theme editor’s desktop and mobile previews, then inspect the actual storefront.

These appearance settings apply to all SaleSwitch banners in that theme, including active banners, without rescheduling a sale. Campaign headlines, clock designs, colors and banner treatments remain campaign settings in the app.

The app’s storefront preview uses standard banner defaults. It does not load or save your theme’s size, padding, alignment, width or mobile layout; use the saved theme to check their actual appearance.

When a countdown appears

A product countdown appears only for a successfully discounted variant with matching current prices. Switching to another variant, a later price edit or an ineligible market/currency context can hide it. Check the exact variant you selected.

The clock follows the campaign’s approved end time, never resets and hides when that time is reached. The displayed deadline does not guarantee that every price has restored at that exact second.

One store banner uses the most recently started eligible banner campaign. Shoppers can minimize, reopen or close it without changing the deadline.

Create the sale destination

Enable Create a sale collection and enter its title. A banner for multiple selected products includes a sale collection so shoppers can reach the offer. Review that action before scheduling.

SaleSwitch creates and publishes the collection to the Online Store only after selected prices are successfully applied. Your sales shows its setup status and link. Skipped variants are excluded. Existing products are not automatically published and navigation links are not added for you.

Shopify collection cards represent whole products. A product can therefore contain regular-price variants as well as selected discounted variants. Collection features are unavailable on Shopify plans that do not support collections.

What happens when the sale ends

SaleSwitch removes its own tracked selections and keeps the collection and selections you added yourself. Manage the collection’s navigation links and any remaining content in Shopify. Check the app’s collection and restoration results instead of assuming cleanup completed.
